This is how creators should act in solidarity right now. Not selfishly, but minding that all of them right now are risking everything while actively fighting. Unions only work if everyone works together for the shared goal. Especially against giants like these unions are facing. Let’s help them. Weaken the position studios have toward their investors. Increase the pressure to give in to the demands of the strikers. Take away what they rely on us giving them: time and money. Stand with the WGA and SAG and stop streaming. What happened to Javier Grillo-Marxuach was awful—and really the result of fans putting their energy in the wrong place right now. Our enemy is the studios, not each other, and certainly not WGA members who are well within the WGA’S official guidelines! (While SAG-AFTRA has a no-promo rule for its members, the WGA does not because it was decided that divorcing writers from their work is even more harmful.) Reminder that union leadership has scabs & strikebreakers handled. And reminder that they’re not calling for a boycott.
